Laura's trip to Swaziland began July 25. She travelled from her home in Milford, CT to La Guardia Airport in New York. Her first flight was to Atlanta, Georgia. There she transferred to another plane bound for Africa. The flight from Atlanta to South Africa made a fuel stop in Senegal, and then continued on to Johannesburg, South Africa. Laura plans to spend two days in Johannesburg before flying on to her final destination, Manzini, Swaziland.

This is Sandy Macaluso, Laura' mom. I'm looking forward to joining the 5th graders in Ms. Kiel's class at Celetano Academy in learning all about Swaziland and Africa. Laura, hope you had a safe trip for the start of your African adventure! Good luck to all the 5th grade for an exciting and fun year of learning. It's really so amazing with the Internet available to all that we can participate in this program and I'm really excited to get going and learn all I can!
The map Jeff attached makes it look like the plane went down in the middle of the Atlantic! (or were you just wishing that Jeff?!?
