This blog offers images, text, questions, and other forms of inquiry and discovery as a way in which our friends might learn about the fascinating African country of Swaziland. The study of material culture, that is, anything made or shaped by humans, is our chosen method of investigation. And, because James will be with us this time around, it is also about human evolution.

Elephants are really something else..so BIG but I don't think I would want one to charge at me! Do they bite? Or is it that they are so big that they can just stomp/crush you to death or hit you with their trunk? My favorite African animal though is the lion. Have you seen any?
Hi Mom. Elephants do not generally bite, as far as I know, but they have been known to crush and turn over cars before. They are generally peaceful animals, but we got too close, especially since it was a cow (female) with two calfs (subadults). I would also like to see a Lion, but we haven´t seen one, as they are quite hard to spot and there are not many of them.
